Guides Directory

After a long sleep following the near-fatal wound he suffered from Azula, Aang comes to on a Fire Nation naval vessel. He panicks, thinking he's been captured, until Katara enters the room and explains what's happened since the incident. They took him back to Chameleon Bay, where they joined up with the Southern Water Tribe warriors who later stole a Fire Nation ship to sneak into their territory with.

Hakoda and Bato are stopped by another Fire Nation ship and questioned, where they're discovered to be spies, but the ensuing battle catches the attention of the serpent of The Serpent's Pass, and when it's accidentally attacked by the pursuing vessel, it goes after them, allowing Katara to use her Waterbending and help give their ship a quick getaway.

Aang feels incredible guilt for allowing Ba Sing Se to be overtaken, having failed the world in his duties as the Avatar once again. So, in order to spare his friends' lives, he abandons ship and sneaks into Fire Nation waters by himself, where he's caught in a horrible storm. He contemplates another impending failure, this time as a result of drowning, when Avatar Roku appears to him and apologizes for his role in Aang's misery, not having done all he could have to prevent the war from beginning. Then Yue descends from the sky and calms the tides, allowing Aang to swim to shore on Crescent Island.

Katara finds Aang missing, and reports to her father, overcome with emotion. She fears for Aang's life, then admits she feared for her father's as well, angry that he left her. Hakoda apologizes, and tells her that he never once stopped thinking about her while he was away, and that Aang must have been doing what he felt was best. Katara, Sokka and Toph take off on Appa to go find Aang, while the Water Tribe warriors gather rebel forces for the impending attack during the eclipse. The kids find Aang, and together they infiltrate the Fire Nation undetected.
