Guides Directory

The kids gather on the shore as the Southern Water Tribe ships pull in, filled with warriors Sokka recommended to his father. Haru and Tyro, Teo and the mechanist, the Foggy Swamp Tribe, even The Boulder and The Hippo are ready to join the Avatar on the battlefield.

Hakoda gives Sokka the floor to address the troops and prepare them for battle, but he's overcome by nerves, and his father steps in to give the rousing speech. They're to storm the capital before the eclipse, and when the cosmic event arrives, take out the palace guards and give Aang a shot at the powerless Fire Lord.

The first step involves passing the Great Gates of Azulon, which they accomplish by using the boats as decoys for security agents while they sneak under the barrier in submarines developed by the mechanist. Once at the capital, Aang bids Katara farewell with a kiss, and her family takes out guard towers near the palace. Katara and Sokka are successful on their end, but Hakoda sustains a terrible injury in his bid, forcing Sokka to lead the invasion while Katara heals him.

When Aang reaches the Fire Nation palace, he can't find anyone, not even in the throne room, alerting him that something's gone terribly wrong.
