Guides Directory

Aang returns to the troops and announces that the Fire Lord is nowhere to be found. Sokka figures that the royal family is hiding out underground, so he leaves the forces to continue their march toward the palace while he and Toph go with Aang to find the Fire Lord.

Toph uses her senses to find a nearby bunker, and opens it with Metalbending. The kids search the hall until they run into the war minister, who gives up the Fire Lord's location in order to spare himself. They head to that door and open it, only to find Azula inside waiting for them, declaring the trap she had set for them all along. Two Dai Li appear, and help her fight while the eclipse has robbed everyone of their Firebending.

Zuko enters the bunker as well, and opens the door to the room where his father is hiding out. He tells the truth, that it was Azula that had supposedly killed the Avatar, and she lied to blame him for Aang still being alive and leading the current invasion. Sorely disappointed, Ozai orders his son to leave the room, but he stands his ground, explaining that everything he's done the past few years has been to please his father and all he received in return was cruelty, now knowing that the world would be better off if the Fire Nation loses the war.

While the kids take out the Dai Li, Azula still proves a powerful opponent, and Sokka realizes she's purposefully wasting their time. She distracts him by revealing she's captured Suki and the Kyoshi Warriors, and Sokka rushes up to her to demand her location. Toph senses Azula's movements and disarms her before she's able to stab Sokka, and Earthbends to pin her down. But the total eclipse is over, and Azula regains her Firebending to break out of Toph's hold, revealing her father's location as she runs away. Feeling their opportunity wasted, the kids decide to return to the invasion forces on the surface.

When they arrive, they see a fleet of Fire Nation airships taking the sky, which quickly destroy the submarines. All hope of escape lost, Hakoda orders the children to leave on Appa while everyone else surrenders themselves. Aang, Sokka, Toph, Katara, Haru, The Duke and Teo flee to the Western Air Temple, and unbeknownst to them, with Zuko right behind.
